Find a nearby rock or pond to lure them near and you can easily take out 2 or 3. Flamin upgraded spears to the head take them down quick and keep circling the rock or dive into water to escape. I've killed about half a dozen so far but honestly it's the mammoth rhinos that are the biggest pain. I'll try this soon.
The blocked caves covered in wood can't be burnt or broken, they're quest locked. Upgrade Sayla's hut earlier than others, the rare materials could save you frustration looking for a skin later.
